So this is my girl, Sandra Bernhard. I got to work with her during her week of performances at the Painted Bride here in Philadelphia. She was wonderful to work with and her hair came out great every night. Hopefully this is just the start!

(Actually, I kind of miss seeing her every day.)

Welcome to Sugar Shears! I’m Mo and my philosophy is MORE IS MORE. This lil tumblr will be my sort of online portfolio/creative space for all things hair (and some things not.) The model above is one of my favorite ladies to style, so much texture!!! And that pic is also from my first photo shoot. I’ll be posting older pictures for a bit until I can get a new camera and then the fun will really start. But let’s get down to brass tacks. I’m going to make myself a list of things that I want to accomplish because a big part of WHY I’m doing this is to stay motivated and focused. I have big goals so I need to keep myself in check if I’m going to make it. REASONS I’M STARTING SUGAR SHEARS have an easily accessible online portfolio to showcase my work share my opinions about hair trends bust hair myths and post my favorite tricks for looking fab push my own limits of creativity and imagination find other people who want to do that same! So I guess that’s kind of the mission statement. Also, you might want to get used to lists. Eventually, my goal in life is to be doing hair for red carpets, magazines, movies, and RUNWAYS. This is my jumping off point. I think the best way to describe my style is edgy, glamourous, luxe, and undone. But maybe most importantly, there is a simplicity that must be present in all of these things. Perhaps the most important word to use when defining my style is accessible. And I swear you can combine it with any of the other ones. I’m really excited. I’ll leave you with another one of my favorite models/another older photo. <3mo
