Sugar Shears

More is more, honey. This is a blog about hair. Photos of my work and my own ranting and raving ideas about how it should be done. Also things that inspire or infuriate me. Here we like it big, we like it flashy, and we like it easy.

Bridesmaid #2! Just a simple blowout that I believe got a headband later on.

I would like to take the rest of this post to write and ode to spray mousse. However, I don’t know how to write and ode. SO, spray mousse is awesome and far superior to all other mousses in the hair product kingdom.

Bridesmaid #1! I believe this was from a Lauren Conrad reference, and I am totally into it. So simple, but so put together. I have a feeling this might be an everyday kind of thing when my hair gets longer.

Anonymous asked: Mo, where are you? You've been cutting my hair at Aspara.

I’m so sorry! I feel terrible that everyone has been left hanging. I’m currently looking for a new salon home, but if you need to contact me for any reason, send me an email at modangerh@gmail.com

Thank you for looking for me. :)

Anonymous asked: Do you know how to do the herringbone technique?

I do. But I feel like you’re not just asking to see if I can do it. It’s actually pretty easy. I would start out with the hair in a ponytail  until you get it down. Split the pony tail into two parts. Then take a little part of one and add it to the other. The take a little piece of the second one (make sure it’s not the piece you just added) and add it to the first. And then repeat until it’s all braided. You can do it over or under, the only difference is the v pointing down or up.

I would post a video but I don’t know how.

Hope that helped!

Due to the fact that this lady live in Europe and won’t see me again until December we had to do a low maintenance color that would stay “true to her copper.” So a peekaboo copper highlight seemed like the only way to go about things.

What she didn’t tell me is that what she wanted was on Drew Barrymore in the Sept. issue of Vogue. When she showed me the picture after we were done I was stunned.

Apparently every once in a while, I can read minds.

I’ll post the picture of Drew if I can find it.

Also, never be afraid to bring me a picture! It’s not silly! It’s the best way to show me exactly what you want.
